COLLECTION ORIGIN

[Words by Mihika] I remember childhood vacations were spent visiting my ancestral home in Rajasthan, a place rich with diverse tribal communities. I was always inspired by the village women who adorned themselves with rich textiles and artistic traditions.

In my mother’s village, women would braid their hair using fabric scraps found around the house. This led to my exploration and fascination with turning scraps into something beautiful and meaningful.
This project first took form when my mother and I worked on a personal project - mending a pair of old jeans with scraps, leftover laces, patches and embellishments from Indian wear - giving what feels like waste, a second life.
Each piece carries a story that is shaped by its journey. It has travelled through Indian markets, village workshops, artisanal homes, and our art studio - reflecting the soul of its origin. Yet, it is also made for the future.

Blending heritage textiles with more contemporary designs allows me to create something fresh while keeping a connection to the past. It’s about evolving the materials and giving them new meaning.
